On the 6th July I joined Roz, Dorothy, and a colleague of Roz in the bushland looking for Fungi.

The next day, Corne found this wattle. What is it? My guess is Acacia podalyriifolia  (commonly known as Silver Wattle).

Some friends donated old carpet - for our trials to see if covering BlackFlag can help us control this weed. There are two patches here - the top one has rubberised underfelt beneath the carpet that may reduce water infiltration into the soil and inhibit plants poking through the carpet. We will see what happens!
