Last of the veldgrass

The veldgrass has taken off with the rain we had recently. So have the freesias and other weeds. John and I finished off the area of veldgrass weeding for this summer - I expect we will begin on the bulbs now.

Towards a collaboration with the Health Department

Vicki and I spent most of this morning walking through the Health Department owned sector of the bushland identifying weeds to be removed/sprayed and thinking about how we might get a collaborative approach to managing this area so that it isn't a constant source of weeds - currently we have deal with a constant invasion of Flinders Ranges Wattles and other woody weeds coming from this area.
We are thinking that it might be worth forming a working party involving the various branches of the Health Department (North Metro Mental Health Services, Grace Vaughan House), Education Department (and Shenton College), City of Nedlands, and the Friends of Shenton Bushland to develop a plan for managing this area.
